Get ready for poo parties and get up close and personal with the stars of the Zoo's Lanterns and Light
Chester Zoo is coming to Deva Fest for the very first time!
The UK’s leading conservation zoo is bringing wild experiences, hands-on activities and a whole lot of colour to the festival field. From glowing animal lanterns to poo-powered science and creative crafts, festivalgoers can explore the world of wildlife in fun, unexpected ways - all inspired by Chester Zoo’s global conservation work.
The zoo’s spectacular animal lanterns will be lighting up Deva Fest throughout the weekend. Originally created for Lanterns and Light, these interactive puppets are bursting with colour, movement and character. Each one is handcrafted for the zoo and inspired by real species from around the world.
Zoo Rangers will be hosting high-energy “poo-parties” at set times each day, with music, movement and plenty of discovery. Expect dancing, games and heaps of poo-themed fun - perfect for younger children.
In the creative corner, festival goers can relax on bean bags for nature-inspired storytelling or get stuck into all-day crafts. From designing creatures to making pollinator crowns, it’s a calm and colourful space for creative minds of all ages.
At the Discover stations, visitors can get hands-on with real conservation tools and techniques. From pangolin tracking devices to bat detectors and dung science, the zoo will be showcasing some of the real-world methods it uses to protect wildlife both at the zoo and in the wild.
And for those looking to transform their festival look, Chester Zoo’s dress-up station will be packed with costumes and accessories to help unleash their wildest selves.
The Chester Zoo Shop will also be popping up at Deva Fest. Visitors can browse a selection of zoo gifts, including soft toys, t-shirts and pocket money treasures. Plus, animal-themed face painting and playful accessories will be available all weekend. All items purchased will help to fund the zoo’s mission to create a future where nature can survive and thrive.
