A Great Value Summer Staycation at Deva Fest

PAC_0690

With the weather being cold and gloomy outside now is the time that so many of us are starting to dream of the warmer months ahead and long for summer.

For some it's a case of heading to the travel websites to plan a trip to the guaranteed sunshine of the Med or beyond, but an increasing number of people are put off by the sky rocketing price of travelling abroad in the school holidays. Prices of holidays in August are up to 11.5% higher than 2024 and averaging comfortably over £1,000 per person (according to this Which article). For a family of four buying a second hand car might prove to be cheaper than a week in the sun.

These eye watering prices are why so many people are turning to festivals as a fun way to Staycation and spend quality time together.

Whilst we can never guarantee the weather in the UK where else can you experience a long weekend of constant music, fun and laughter together in one place? Increasingly we are seeing comments on our socials that many of you spend your summers hopping from one festival to another as an affordable way to enjoy a summer holiday adventure and keep everyone entertained.

Deva Fest has free unlimited fairground rides and many activities included in your ticket price to keep your little ones and not so little ones entertained. Throw in five stages of music and comedy, posh loos with no upgrade cost (yes no squeezing into a dirty Portaloo to take your 3 year old to the toilet) and hand picked street food and craft beer and hopefully we can persuade you that the festival life is for you! If you are on a budget you can bring your own food and soft drinks into the festival so you have snacks on hand when your hungry little one demands food, and we allow you to bring alcohol into the campsites too.

Access to luxury toilets as standard costs anywhere from £35 to £82 per person at other festivals, and with fairground rides typically being at least a fiver a go if your kids went on four rides a day you would actually save more than the £56 you paid for them to enter for the weekend (less with a discounted family bundle). There is some real value in the extras included in our tickets, and in our next blog we will be price testing Deva against 18 other comparable family friendly festivals (spoiler alert - we are the second cheapest).

What’s that I hear? “I don’t do camping”?  Well we have glamping with memory foam mattresses, bunting and fairy lights to get you in the festival mood plus hot showers and a pamper tent.  No struggling with tent poles or realising you left the tent pegs at home! Or we you can even book one of the amazing hotel and festival packages we are about to release so you can still sleep in your comfy bed and enjoy the festival.

With buses to and from the hotels and nearby towns and villages, you can have that G&T and listen to Gloria without doing rock paper scissors over who is the designated driver. We have later busses to the festival for those that like to sleep in and early buses back for those tired little ones that want their bed.

We have really thought of everything. When you consider that the cost of a family of four flying to Majorca in August is from £1400 (just flights and no luggage) compared to a family ticket with camping at Deva Fest is from £420.00 then you have spare change to have another staycation.

See you in August!
