Your views and our comments on 24
A belated thank you to all of you who filled in our 2024 feedback forms.
DF24 was the second to take place in the wonderful surroundings of Cholmondeley Castle, and was our fourth festival overall.
We were keen to find out what you enjoyed, and we always want to know what could be improved as we strive to be the best event we can be.
94% of you said that you would definitely recommend the festival to a friend, and this has been proven with sales nearly three times ahead of what they were this time last year. Of the remaining 6% there were 4.8% in the "maybe" category and 1.2% would not.
Overall the things you rated the highest were the atmosphere, cleanliness, toilets, value for money tickets, range of entertainment and range of things to do for families (you absolutely LOVE our free fairground rides!).
Looking at the campsites the check in process, facilities and stewards were the highest rated three items.
There were three areas which we identified for improvement operating the 24 show, and these were reflected in some of your comments:
The Polo Fields camping needs more facilities and the land be better prepared, and this will be the case for 25 with showers being introduced to that area as well as more toilets and better land prep.
Club Deva itself worked really well as a space, but we have plans to move this a little nearer to the main stage.
The location of some of the stages will be tweaked for 25 - sound clash is unavoidable at festivals, but (spoiler alert) the Sailors Rest will move for next summer to be further away from the main stage to help reduce this.
A word also on connectivity - this is a tricky one as we cannot influence phone reception (although this seemed better this year - in 23 a local mast was down) and providing usable wifi across the site is not commercially viable. We are looking at providing hotspots within the festival for 2025 - this is 100% going to happen and we will have more news soon....
Looking back at 24 from the organisers point of view we were pleased to see the event continuing to grow and attract bigger artists to perform with us (we are still fanboying over The Human League!). We are a newer event in the scheme of things, and having contended with everything from Covid to a cost of a living crisis and an enforced venue change (for the better!) we haven't had an easy first few years, but the owners are committed to making sure Deva Fest is here for the long haul and continues to attract the absolute best talent (we are VERY excited about telling you who is on the 25 line up later this month!).
We ask you to sum up Deva in one sentence and comments were overwhelmingly positive: our favourites were "Our new favourite festival: Safe, friendly, clean facilities, fabulous family atmosphere in astoundingly beautiful surroundings!" and "The best weekend with family, fun for all, memories that last forever", but there were hundreds more like these.
We really do appreciate your comments and feedback. We read every form and take what you tell us on board.
Deva Fest is an independently owned festival run by local people who care passionately that you have a great time with us. Thank you for your support and loyalty and we can't wait to see you all next Summer!
