Sustainability
Great Festival. Lasting Memories. Less Waste.
We believe a brilliant festival experience shouldn’t come at an unnecessary cost to the environment.
Bringing thousands of people together will always have an impact, and we’re not going to pretend we can eliminate it completely. What we can do is make practical, responsible choices that reduce waste, encourage greener travel, support local businesses and make sure as much as possible is reused rather than thrown away.
Here are some of the ways we’re working to make Deva Fest more sustainable.
🚌 Greener Ways to Get to Deva Fest
How people travel to and from a festival is a major part of its environmental footprint.
We encourage festival-goers to leave the car at home where possible, with shuttle bus services and transport partnerships helping more people make part or all of their journey by public transport.
We’ll continue looking for ways to make shared and public transport an easier and more attractive option for our audience.
⛺ Pre-Pitched Tents That Get Used Again
Our pre-pitched camping and glamping options aren't disposable tents.
The tents are packed down, stored and reused, helping us provide a convenient camping experience without encouraging the culture of buying cheap camping equipment and abandoning it after a single weekend.
🏕️ Take Your Tent Home
One of the simplest things every camper can do makes a huge difference:
Take your tent and camping equipment home.
Tents aren't single-use products. We actively encourage everyone staying with us to pack up everything they arrived with and reuse it on their next adventure.
🥤 ReCup – Reuse Instead of Throw Away
Deva Fest uses the ReCup reusable cup system, helping reduce the huge quantity of single-use plastic cups that can otherwise be generated by a large festival.
Instead of a drink automatically creating another piece of disposable plastic waste, cups can be collected, washed and used again.
♻️ Recycling Across the Festival
We provide recycling facilities across the festival and campsites, separating recyclable materials from general waste wherever possible. Our recycling partners Greenbox sort everything to make sure as little as possible heads to landfill.
But recycling works best when everyone gets involved. We ask our festival-goers, traders, staff and contractors to help us put waste in the right place and leave the beautiful Cholmondeley Estate as we found it.
📍 Supporting Local Businesses
We believe in spending locally.
Deva Fest works with local food and drink vendors, suppliers, tradespeople and contractors, keeping more of the festival's economic impact within Cheshire and the surrounding region.
That means fewer miles traveled by the people, equipment and supplies needed to build and operate the festival.
🌱 Reducing Single-Use Packaging
We work with our traders and suppliers to reduce unnecessary single-use plastics and packaging, including the use of biodegradable and more environmentally responsible wrappers and packaging wherever practical.
Small changes multiplied across thousands of customers can make a significant difference.
👕 No Mountains of Leftover Merchandise
Festival merchandise can create enormous amounts of waste when organisers order hundreds of T-shirts that never sell.
We don't want to work that way.
From 2026 we switched to print-on-demand merch to minimise unnecessary production and leftover stock, reducing the number of unwanted garments going to waste at the end of an event.
Small Changes Add Up
We're proud of the steps we're taking, but sustainability isn't something that can ever be considered "finished".
We'll continue reviewing how Deva Fest is built, supplied and operated, looking for realistic ways to reduce our environmental impact while protecting the experience that makes the festival special.
And our audience has an important part to play too.
Use the shuttle. Reuse your cup. Recycle your rubbish. Take your tent home. Support our local traders.
If thousands of us make better choices together, those small decisions can add up to something much bigger.
Great times. Great music. Less waste. That's the direction we want Deva Fest to keep traveling.
